So you have a business and everyone’s telling you to get one social media. Well, they’re not wrong! Social media is the place to be if you want to build a community, find new clients, learn about your audience and so much more.

However, if you’re not familiar with using social media for business then it can feel a bit overwhelming when you’re first getting started.

You may feel like you don’t want to put all your eggs in one basket when it comes to social media. However, trust me, it’s much more effective to be good at one social media than mediocre at 4.

That may sound harsh but social media requires a lot of consistent attention to really take off and it’s going to continue to need that attention if you want it to grown and prosper.

In this article, I’m going to advise you on which social media I think will be best for your particular style of business.

If you’ve got a B2B (business to business) type of situation then LinkedIn is likely the place for you! LinkedIn specialises in more formal content that is directed at companies and businesses and their CEOs, owners and employees.

Instagram can be pretty good too if you’re B2B, particularly if your audience is small businesses, sole entrepreneurs or creative businesses. These people prefer the more casual feel that Instagram can offer. So it’s important that you have a good idea of the kind of person you want to work with as this will help you decide where to focus your attention.

If your clients are just regular people, Facebook and Instagram are great. Facebook groups especially are a good place to mingle with potential clients. It’s often harder to target and find these people so doing research into where they hang out, what they talk about and hashtags they use is really going to help.

If you’re selling a product or a creative service Pinterest is a must at the moment! It’s really brilliant if you can take lots of aesthetic pictures of what it is you provide.

I’m not sure what Twitter’s good for yet other than following drama and politics haha! I’ll let you know if I find out!
