By showing your face, I mean showing your face in association with your business.

The psychology behind why you should show your face is interesting.

Without a face, your business can appear impersonal and cold to your clients.

To be honest, people don’t connect with logos in the same way that they connect with other humans. Showing your face means your business is more likely to be seen as friendly and relatable.

You’ll be more memorable too as people tend to have an easier time recognizing faces than just logos or names.

And it means you’ll be able to have real conversations too!

The best methods of showing your face are:

  • Video content – Take you normal content and just record yourself speaking it but don’t forget to add subtitles!
  • Stories – Quite a few social media have stories now that you can upload and they last for 24hrs
  • Live streams – These can be webinars or just lives on social media. These can be scary but they’re great for adding value

Benefits

One of the main benefits of showing your face for a small/medium business is it separates you from the big faceless brands. If they’re given the option, people enjoy supporting small businesses over the big brands, as long as you can give the same value.

But another big benefit is that it gives people an idea of who you are before they decide to enquire about working with you. So you’ll only get people wanting to work with you who already know you and know what to expect.

Plus this type of content does really well usually in my experience. Posts with your face are great for engagement.
